Really a belay chair
"So to start this off, this product should not be called a Bosun's Chair. It really should be called a belay chair. This belay chair is slightly heavy for shorter walls but I discovered that the metal frame can be taken out. This obviously reduces the benefit of the chair but from personal experience it is still much nicer than nothing. I like the simple back rest. Doubles as a swing for the 99% of the year I'm not on a big wall."

Essential item for bolting routes
"For anyone sFALSE extending periods hanging on the wall (eg bolting routes) this item is ESSENTIAL. It removes most of the pressure off the back of your legs and allows you to work at height for much longer periods than any harness. I clip mine in very short to the biner attached to my GriGri which allows easy movement up and down the rope. Worth its weight for sure. If I were to make a any improvement, I would suggest that BD add clip in loops near the top of the triangle part of the seat so users can clip in short directly vs having to use the ratchet straps. That way one could remove them and save even more weight."
